This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Take charge of and manage the Global Trade policy and procedure framework.
• Lead risk-based self-assessment and monitoring initiatives in Global Trade.
• Convert findings and risk indicators into actionable corrections and enhancements in processes, controls, tools, and training.
• Supervise the management of Global Trade records.
• Set and uphold standards for data quality and integrity within Global Trade.
• Act as the enterprise owner of Global Trade technology and tools.
• Collaborate on automation, system enhancements, integration, and process optimization.
• Manage Global Trade training and awareness initiatives.
• Develop metrics, dashboards, key risk indicators, and reporting systems.
• Coordinate corrective measures arising from assessments, audits, investigations, regulatory changes, and control deficiencies.
• Assist in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures through due diligence and integration or offboarding processes.
• Prepare and file Global Trade regulatory submissions, including DDTC registration, anti-boycott reports, and EAR license exemption requests.
• Keep abreast of global trade laws, regulations, enforcement, and compliance best practices.
• Cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Propel continuous improvement of the Global Trade compliance program.
• Oversee and develop assigned personnel in Global Trade.
• Travel between Reston, VA, Arlington, VA, and Washington, DC.
• Execute other assigned duties.
• A Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Capability to serve as an Empowered Official.
• In-depth knowledge of export control, sanctions, and customs laws and regulations.
• Strong skills in project and program management.
• Experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, or evaluating corporate compliance programs, policies, procedures, internal controls, or monitoring initiatives.
• Background in conducting or overseeing compliance assessments, risk assessments, monitoring, and similar evaluations.
• Proven capacity to identify compliance and operational risks and convert findings into practical, scalable corrective actions and program improvements.
• Strong analytical abilities with the capability to utilize data, metrics, and trends to assess program effectiveness and inform decision-making.
• Ability to evaluate business processes and technology solutions from a compliance and controls standpoint.
• Experience with technology, systems, or automation that supports compliance or business processes.
• Self-driven and results-oriented, capable of prioritizing and making independent decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including the development and mentoring of professionals.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person as defined in ITAR §120.62.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
• Preferred: 8+ years of senior management experience; proximity to Reston, Virginia; experience in U.S. federal government contracting, aerospace/defense, or high-technology sectors; expertise in compliance systems and workflow automation, data analytics, dashboards, or technology-enabled controls; experience in M&A/divestiture trade compliance; familiarity with UK, EU, and Australian regulations; capability to coordinate geographically dispersed teams; previous designation as an Empowered Official; and current Secret or Top Secret clearance.
