Director, Capital Markets

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement capital-markets strategies that align with growth initiatives, operational requirements, acquisitions, refinancing, capital investments, and long-term capital-structure goals.

• Assess financing options and advise on a combination of debt, equity, structured financing, leasing, asset-backed financing, private placements, revolving credit facilities, and other sources of funding.

• Direct the structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and execution of financing transactions, which include credit facilities, term loans, notes, letters of credit, guarantees, and various debt or capital instruments.

• Manage liquidity and capital-structure planning, including cash-flow forecasting, borrowing capacity, debt-service obligations, working-capital needs, debt maturities, covenant headroom, and contingency funding strategies.

• Keep track of market trends, borrowing costs, leverage, interest expenses, credit metrics, refinancing risks, and other financial vulnerabilities.

• Collaborate with Treasury and Accounting on reporting, accounting practices, disclosures, controls, and ensuring readiness for audits.

• Establish and nurture relationships with banks, lenders, institutional investors, private-credit sources, rating agencies, underwriters, legal advisors, and financial consultants.

• Manage communications with lenders, investors, and rating agencies, including financial models, due diligence documents, presentations, and recommendations for executives or the Board.

• Work closely with Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Legal, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, and business leaders on financing strategies, acquisitions, capital allocation, transaction execution, and financial risk management.

• Lead, guide, and mentor the Capital Markets team.

• Enhance capital-markets processes, financial models, reporting, governance, controls, and documentation practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.

• 8–12+ years of increasingly responsible experience in capital markets, treasury, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, commercial banking, or a similar discipline.

• Proven experience in evaluating, structuring, negotiating, and executing debt, equity, or alternative financing transactions.

• Expertise in managing liquidity, debt facilities, capital structure, financial covenants, lender reporting, and maintaining external financing relationships.

• Comprehensive knowledge of capital-markets instruments, financing structures, debt-market trends, financial risk management, and capital-structure planning.

• Advanced skills in financial modeling, valuation, scenario planning, and analytical reasoning.

• Experience in assessing financing options, debt capacity, covenant headroom, borrowing costs, interest-rate risks, and liquidity considerations.

• High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, financial-planning software, treasury-management systems, and ERP systems.

• Demonstrated ability to manage intricate financing workflows and coordinate among internal stakeholders, lenders, investors, advisors, and legal counsel from initial analysis to closing and post-close compliance.

• Strong executive communication abilities, including the capacity to clearly present complex financial issues to senior leaders, Boards, lenders, investors, and external advisors.

• Highly developed negotiation, relationship management, stakeholder influencing, and sound judgment skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a disciplined approach to controls, confidentiality, documentation, and financial risk management.
