Director, Business Operations – Business Advisory Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a trusted senior advisor to clients in the broadband and telecommunications sectors, including CEOs, Presidents, owners, and other C-suite executives.

• Facilitate strategic conversations to identify business goals, organizational challenges, operational deficiencies, and areas for enhancement.

• Analyze intricate business and operational dilemmas and formulate practical, long-lasting solutions.

• Oversee complex, multi-disciplinary consulting projects from assessment and strategy formulation through to implementation and measurable outcomes.

• Define project goals, methodologies, work plans, timelines, deliverables, and success criteria.

• Manage multiple simultaneous client projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and achieving high client satisfaction standards.

• Lead cross-functional teams and utilize subject-matter experts to create holistic solutions.

• Create and present executive-level presentations, reports, workshops, assessments, and strategic recommendations.

• Review business processes, organizational structures, policies, procedures, and operational models to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Formulate and execute recommendations regarding organizational design, business processes, workforce effectiveness, and operational performance.

• Provide guidance on policies, procedures, governance frameworks, business systems, incentive compensation programs, performance metrics, dashboards, and management processes.

• Assist in organizational transformation and change management projects.

• Contribute to the growth and strategic vision of JSI's Business Advisory Services practice.

• Identify new client opportunities, engage in proposal and scope development, and contribute to thought leadership and industry presentations.

• Collaborate with JSI's financial, engineering, regulatory, grants, and other consulting teams.

• Mentor and develop consultants and other team members.

• Stay updated on broadband, telecommunications, operational, technology, and business trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in business operations, management consulting, telecommunications operations, organizational transformation, business advisory services, or a closely related field.

• More than 7 years of experience in telecommunications, broadband, ISP, telephone, electric utility, or a closely related industry.

• Proven experience in leading complex consulting engagements or strategic business initiatives from assessment to implementation.

• Experience in advising and presenting to C-level executives and senior leadership teams.

• Strong grasp of business operations, organizational design, process improvement, and operational performance management.

• Experience in establishing organizational policies, processes, procedures, and governance frameworks.

• Experience in designing, implementing, or managing incentive compensation programs.

• Proficient in business process analysis and operational enhancement.

• Ability to convert complex client requirements into actionable strategies and initiatives.

• Excellent executive communication, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-building abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities simultaneously.

• Ability to comprehend both strategic objectives and detailed execution steps.

• Strong business acumen and the ability to provide candid, constructive recommendations to clients.

• Capability to work independently while leveraging internal subject-matter experts and cross-functional teams.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% based on client and business needs.

• A Bachelor's degree is required.

• An MBA or advanced degree in business, management, organizational development, or a related field is preferred.

• Previous experience in management consulting or professional services is strongly preferred.
