This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Develop and take charge of the company's strategy for entering the data center market, focusing on hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and hybrid environments.
• Identify trends related to power, cooling, redundancy, resiliency, and energy efficiency, and convert them into business opportunities.
• Create and manage a multi-year pipeline that aligns with strategic growth objectives.
• Foster relationships with data center developers, operators, site-selection teams, owner's representatives, engineering firms, and consultants.
• Establish strategic partnerships, alliances, and referral networks to enhance market penetration.
• Position the company as a trusted advisor in operational resilience, energy efficiency, and integrated infrastructure services.
• Identify, qualify, and secure significant data center opportunities.
• Lead complex pursuits from initial strategy through proposal development, pricing, negotiations, and closing.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance, and executive leadership to create competitive solutions.
• Cultivate long-term relationships with executive, technical, and project stakeholders across the data center ecosystem.
• Conduct strategic briefings, investment discussions, and solution presentations tailored to mission-critical environments.
• Work with marketing to create data center-specific messaging, case studies, and thought leadership content.
• Provide market intelligence and insights for future products and solutions.
• Ensure internal teams are aware of changing customer requirements and market opportunities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Systems, Technology Infrastructure, or a related field.
• 7–10+ years of business development experience in mission-critical industries such as data centers, digital infrastructure, energy services, mechanical/electrical systems, or utility services.
• Proven track record in securing large-scale opportunities and multi-million-dollar projects.
• In-depth understanding of data center purchasing processes, development considerations, and vendor ecosystems.
• Strong technical and financial acumen, with the ability to articulate ROI, lifecycle value, resiliency, and operational impact.
• Demonstrated capability to develop markets, create sales channels, and execute growth strategies with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills at the executive level.
• Ability to navigate large, complex decision-making organizations and influence multiple stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and strategic-thinking skills.
• Ability to assess and prioritize opportunities based on strategic value and ROI.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%–50%, including overnight and occasional weekend trips.
• Experience in data center resiliency planning or distributed energy resources.
• Established relationships with hyperscale or colocation providers.
• Background in selling O&M, performance contracting, energy infrastructure, or multisite service solutions.
• $200,000–$275,000 base salary.
• $300,000–$500,000+ sales incentive potential.
