Director, Audit Transformation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead the transition from conventional audit execution to an agentic operating model.

• Define the framework for the design, adoption, and scaling of financial audit agents across the customer base.

• Act as the liaison between Fieldguide’s agentic platform and the audit industry.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, sales, and customer success teams to establish audit expertise, professional-grade documentation, and readiness for regulatory inspections.

• Create a change-management framework that guides firms from initial adoption to complete transformation.

• Assist the Head of Audit with strategic planning, special projects, and go-to-market strategies.

• Serve as the audit domain authority in product discovery, prioritization, and roadmap development.

• Convert professional standards and practitioner judgment into prompts, workflows, guardrails, and integrated methodologies.

• Identify appropriate procedures for agent execution, levels of autonomy, and necessary documentation.

• Validate agent capabilities with practitioners prior to launch.

• Own the transformation playbook, maturity model, and program framework in collaboration with Customer Success.

• Provide Customer Success with frameworks, materials, and training for scalable and repeatable engagements.

• Act as the executive sponsor and audit subject-matter expert for key accounts.

• Address complex methodology and adoption challenges.

• Monitor customer health and methodology compatibility, providing insights for product and methodology roadmaps.

• Represent Fieldguide through written materials, webinars, speaking engagements, and industry networking.

• Stay updated on PCAOB, AICPA, and SEC developments and interpret their implications for product, methodology, and messaging.

• Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Engineering on go-to-market initiatives, executive briefings, demonstrations, and validation discussions.

• Represent Fieldguide during customer onsite meetings.

• Support Sales and Marketing with credible narratives about audits, competitive positioning, and content for deals.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA with over 10 years of financial audit experience at a public accounting firm.

• Experience in senior leadership, national office, or roles focused on innovation/transformation.

• Direct experience with regulatory and standard-setting organizations.

• Proven experience in designing or scaling repeatable transformation or change-management programs, including playbooks, maturity models, and training.

• Extensive knowledge of auditing standards and audit methodology.

• Familiarity with audit technology, automation, AI-enabled tools, audit methodologies, templates, or workpapers.

• Understanding of quality control/quality management standards as they pertain to methodology and audit documentation.

• Ability to convert professional standards into structured workflows and logical frameworks.

• Strong analytical skills and capacity to collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.

• Executive presence and confidence to lead demonstrations, onsite visits, and validation sprints in front of firm leadership and regulators.

• Active participation in AICPA, state CPA societies, or standard-setting bodies is advantageous.

• Experience in building or scaling firm-wide innovation or transformation initiatives is a plus.

• Background in audit methodology, quality, or national office roles is beneficial.

• Expertise in international auditing standards and methodologies is a bonus.

• Familiarity with LLM-based or agentic workflows, prompt design, or AI-enabled audit tools is a plus.
