Director, Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily accounting and treasury functions, reporting directly to the Controller.

• Manage the month-end closing process from pre-close preparations to balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis.

• Take responsibility for monthly consolidation within a multi-entity framework, ensuring intercompany eliminations and GAAP compliance.

• Lead the annual financial statement audit as the main external contact.

• Supervise the PBC list and ensure the audit timeline remains on track.

• Collaborate with external tax advisors and Treasury regarding settlement accounting, restricted cash classifications, and reserve calculations.

• Implement AI agents for journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

• Construct and nurture a small, high-performing accounting team while acting as a player-coach.

• Streamline the closing calendar and enhance internal controls, audit preparedness, and AI-driven workflows in preparation for an IPO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active CPA credential and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Extensive, hands-on expertise in month-end closing, financial consolidation, and GAAP compliance within a multi-entity organization.

• Proven experience managing external financial statement audits from start to finish, including PBC oversight.

• Familiarity with the COSO framework and PCAOB standards regarding ICFR, along with experience in designing and testing internal controls.

• Proficient in NetSuite or a similar enterprise ERP system, as well as advanced Excel skills.
