Directed Energy SME – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Offer part-time Subject Matter Expertise support to the PEO IWS Directed Energy PAPM for ongoing development, testing, and deployment of directed energy systems.

• Keep program leadership informed about the latest advancements, particularly those vital for future Navy directed energy weapon system initiatives.

• Serve as the program's representative within the Science and Technology communities.

• Evaluate the relevance of directed energy Science and Technology research for suitable weapon missions.

• Integrate cutting-edge technology into PEO IWS programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline; a Master's Degree is preferred.

• Over 10 years of proven experience in the development, testing, and analysis of directed energy (laser, high-powered microwave) weapon systems.

• Must possess a DoD Secret clearance or higher.

• Capability to maintain the clearance throughout the duration of employment.

• Willingness to travel up to 5-10% of the time.
