This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Execute all responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional.
• Offer remote assistance across various locations to individuals living independently.
• Manage multiple tasks while executing DSP responsibilities and ensuring quality oversight and remote support for individuals receiving Enabling Technology Support.
• Monitor alerts and external cameras at several locations to guarantee the safety and well-being of supported individuals while promoting privacy, independence, and dignity.
• Assist individuals in leading self-directed lives.
• Liaise with the Night Monitor, Program Coordinator, and Program Director concerning individual needs, concerns, and technology-related issues.
• Act as an engaged member of the Enabling Technology team and the Circle of Support.
• Engage in group decision-making, information sharing, idea exchange, and collaboration.
• Communicate with staff remotely during shift changes.
• Complete documentation related to Remote Support as it arises.
• Evaluate situations and identify suitable courses of action.
• Implement Individual Support Plans effectively.
• Foster and maintain relationships with supported individuals.
• Adhere to organizational rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards.
• Represent the organization in a professional manner and uphold its mission, vision, philosophy, and person-centered practices.
• High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• AA/BA/BS Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Minimum of two years of related experience working with individuals with disabilities is required.
• Experience in a competitive or supported employment environment is preferred.
• Must comply with SJCS and funding jurisdiction's current requirements for criminal background checks.
• Valid health certificate in accordance with current funding jurisdiction requirements.
• A valid state-issued driver’s license with a current driving record in good standing is required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Advanced understanding of each individual's personalized Technology Support Plan and ISP.
• Ability to swiftly assess situations and determine the appropriate response.
• Capability to multi-task and resolve problems efficiently.
• Ability to perform necessary physical activities, including standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, squatting, bending, sitting, walking, climbing, and balancing.
