This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of consumer loan processing from the initial application to funding.
• Stay informed about consumer lending laws, regulations, internal policies, BSA/AML, OFAC, privacy, and fraud-prevention requirements.
• Handle both inbound and outbound communications related to loans while managing multiple applications simultaneously.
• Independently oversee a dynamic pipeline of around 40–50 applications, with approximately 75% being vehicle-secured.
• Conduct proactive follow-ups, clear conditions, manage documentation, and take full ownership of the process until funding is complete.
• Perform quality control reviews for loan funding and operational audits.
• Ensure compliance with documentation standards, lien perfection requirements, and regulatory and policy guidelines.
• Identify exceptions and implement corrective actions to reduce risk.
• Gather, analyze, and verify proof of income, stipulations, insurance, title, registration, and identity documentation.
• Set expectations for members and provide them with clear updates on their loan status.
• Analyze data, research, gather documentation, and prepare loan documentation.
• Obtain and verify DMV documentation to register the credit union’s lien on collateral.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other departments throughout the loan application process.
• Manage email communications, respond to TEAM chat queries, conduct consumer loan fulfillment audits, address escalated calls, and handle branch emails.
• Identify, investigate, and address potential fraud, suspicious activities, and identity theft issues.
• Utilize critical thinking and continuous improvement strategies to minimize errors and enhance processing efficiency.
• Suggest process improvements and share best practices with the team.
• Participate in video conferences and online meetings.
• Follow up on inquiries and concerns from members using approved communication channels.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to Golden 1 members, dealerships, and external finance companies.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
• An Associate's degree or some college education is preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a high-volume lending or work environment.
• Proven ability to independently manage complex loan files.
• Capability to resolve escalations while consistently meeting quality, compliance, and productivity standards in a fast-paced environment.
• In-depth knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and internal policies pertaining to consumer lending and credit union compliance.
• Familiarity with BSA/AML, OFAC, privacy regulations, and fraud/identity theft prevention practices.
• Ability to manage a high-volume pipeline of approximately 40–50 applications.
• Proficient in collecting, analyzing, and validating financial and identity-related documentation.
• Competence in obtaining and verifying DMV documentation and accurately recording liens.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
