Dimensional Management Specialist – Interior and Exterior Trim

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Define and validate aesthetic and functional requirements for suppliers.

• Align function, assembly, and manufacturing process requirements.

• Establish and ensure the datum scheme (geometric references).

• Document critical requirements (aesthetic and functional) in CAD/Excel.

• Coordinate with suppliers to converge on GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and meet gap, flush, and functionality requirements.

• Review and approve GD&T reports from suppliers.

• Align the supplier parts inspection plan with client requirements.

• Conduct and validate tolerance stacking studies (RSS/VSA) and propose improvements.

• Suggest design or tolerance adjustments to meet gap/flush requirements.

• Define the measurement roadmap and review inspection plans.

• Review and approve gauge design concepts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in Dimensional Management within the automotive industry.

• Practical experience with exterior/interior plastic parts (datum and tolerances).

• Proficiency in ASME/ISO GD&T standards.

• Advanced use of CAD tools (NX or CATIA), PLM, or Teamcenter.

• Experience in stacking studies (RSS).

• Knowledge of 3DCS or Vis VSA (desirable).

• Understanding of plastic parts and manufacturing processes.

• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and measurement data analysis.
