Diagnostic Radiology Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +18 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate documentation for outpatient diagnostic and ancillary services within diagnostic radiology.

• Achieve performance benchmarks for precise and timely charge submissions and coding for both professional and facility services.

• Uphold hourly productivity and quality metrics.

• Participate in departmental meetings through conference calls and Microsoft Teams.

• Review medical records and extract clinical data utilizing ICD-10-CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS coding systems.

• Assess patient encounters to ensure accurate diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers are recorded.

• Verify CCI bundling edits along with NCD/LCD edits.

• Input codes into the client’s coding software for billing-file transfer and reimbursement purposes.

• Consult with managers when documentation or code assignments are insufficient, ambiguous, or unclear.

• Implement LCD, NCD, and CCI guidelines effectively.

• Address issues related to claims, billing, edits, warnings, and denials through thorough documentation and code-assignment reviews.

• Relay coding, compliance, and documentation concerns to the department manager.

• Seek clarifications from healthcare providers or designated resources as needed.

• Keep coding knowledge current through ongoing education and relevant literature.

• Adhere to client-specific project guidelines while being able to work with minimal supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology Coding.

• Experience with 3M software is advantageous.

• Must achieve an audit score of 95% or above.

• Maintain a production rate of 90% or higher.

• Uphold strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

• Possess RCC, CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent certification.

• Moderate understanding of level 1 and 2 modifiers.

• Capability to code Level I, Duplex and Doppler ultrasounds, CTs/CTAs, MRIs, and nuclear medicine at a minimum.

• Ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.

• Comprehend and adhere to compliance issues of moderate complexity.

• Detail-oriented with a strong ability to identify and resolve issues.

• Moderate knowledge of CCI edits and LCDs.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues.

• Conduct oneself in an ethical, honest, and professional manner.

• Must be a US resident residing in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Texas.
