DevSecOps Presales Solutions Engineer – Mid-Atlantic Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Account Executives and senior AppSec and AI engineers to foster new and ongoing business in the Mid-Atlantic region.

• Conduct technical qualification, discovery, and positioning for presales opportunities related to Application Security and AI.

• Escalate intricate objections to senior engineers and practice leads as necessary.

• Clearly communicate AppSec and AI risks, controls, and architectural trade-offs to both technical and security stakeholders.

• Align customer aspirations in AI with the foundational realities of Application Security.

• Acquire knowledge of new AppSec and AI technologies and effectively communicate their value across customer security environments.

• Engage in Sales and Marketing events, industry conferences, and technical forums.

• Assist in the creation of Statements of Work, proposals, and technical documentation.

• Leverage emerging technologies, including AI tools, to address challenges and enhance business results.

• Report to Engineering leadership within the DevSecOps practice.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 1-3 years in presales, sales engineering, solutions engineering, or a similar client-facing technical role that has driven sales.

• Foundational understanding of Application Security and/or AI security principles, secure software development, and contemporary DevSecOps practices.

• A genuine interest in and awareness of AI/ML systems, AI security risks, and emerging governance and regulatory issues.

• Ability to quickly learn new cyber technologies and convey their value propositions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong discovery skills to identify issues and gaps in customer AppSec and AI initiatives and work collaboratively on solutions.

• Willingness to proactively investigate and engage with emerging vendors and technologies pertinent to AppSec and AI.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to translate complex technical information into business-oriented outcomes.

• Working knowledge of Application Security concepts, including secure SDLC, SAST/DAST/SCA, code review, vulnerability management, and web/API security.

• Familiarity with AI/ML systems and emerging AI security risks, including model security, LLM/GenAI risks, and AI governance.

• Exposure to contemporary DevSecOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud environments.

• Working technical understanding of foundational security concepts such as Zero Trust and defense in depth.

• Ability to construct technical proof points and demonstrate solutions to both technical and executive stakeholders with assistance from senior engineers.

• Strong communication and troubleshooting abilities.

• Up to 25% travel may be required.

• Sedentary work environment.

• Significant wrist, hand, and/or finger movements for at least 8 hours a day.

• Close visual acuity required for computer terminal viewing and/or extensive reading for a minimum of 8 hours a day.

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
