DevOps Engineer – m/f/d

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assume accountability for the on-premises platform.

• Enhance and standardize the Hetzner/Proxmox infrastructure utilizing Ansible, Python scripting, and Jenkins shared libraries (Groovy).

• Coordinate isolated customer environments on Ubuntu VMs featuring Tomcat, PostgreSQL, Keycloak, and RabbitMQ.

• Maintain and optimize build pipelines using Gradle/Maven and deployment processes for Spring Boot and Tomcat applications.

• Empower development teams in the role of a coach and sparring partner.

• Establish DevOps standards within the Community of Practice.

• Systematically document architectural decisions in Confluence.

• Create meaningful alerting and logging using Grafana, Loki, and LibreNMS.

• Assess and employ AI agents like OpenCode and HypGPT to automate routine tasks, code reviews, and pipeline analyses.

• Decrease the provisioning time for new customer environments from two weeks to automated deployments within 1–2 days.

• Collaborate on systems, processes, and architecture as a part of the Platform Services Squad.


⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of practical experience in administering and automating Linux environments (Ubuntu).

• Strong expertise in Ansible, Docker, and Jenkins.

• Familiarity with the Java/JVM ecosystem, especially Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Tomcat, Gradle, or Maven.

• Understanding of build configurations and dependencies.

• Hands-on approach to on-premises infrastructure.

• Capability to clearly explain complex interrelationships and share knowledge.

• Enjoyment of working within agile squads (Scrum).

• Willingness to adopt AI tools and agentic programming in the DevOps workflow.

• Knowledge of Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, Apache Tomcat, PostgreSQL, or security and compliance is advantageous but not mandatory.
