DevOps Engineer – AWS, GitHub Actions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Revamp the company's infrastructure.

• Enhance production support.

• Lead a CI/CD transformation initiative.

• Cultivate a mature DevOps function internally.

• Collaborate closely on a daily basis with Oscar.

• Transition the company's AWS codebase to GitHub Actions.

• Design and standardize deployment automation and pipelines.

• Create monitoring dashboards and develop alerting strategies.

• Evaluate AWS expenditures and optimize resources and capacity.

• Manage AWS WAF while implementing security best practices.

• Establish and support processes for incident detection and response.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid expertise in AWS infrastructure and operations, encompassing EC2, Auto Scaling, Load Balancers, VPC networking fundamentals, and operational troubleshooting.

• Experience with GitHub Actions, including workflow design, reusable workflows, secrets/OIDC, and migrating existing pipelines.

• Background in CI/CD and deployment automation, covering pipeline design, standardization, and release management practices.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Experience with monitoring and observability, including dashboard design, alerting strategies, and the cleanup and rationalization of monitoring.

• Familiarity with Datadog or a similar monitoring tool.

• Expertise in cost optimization and capacity planning, including AWS spend analysis, resource optimization, and scaling/de-scaling strategies.

• Knowledge of AWS security, particularly WAF administration and adherence to security best practices.

• Experience in production support, specifically incident detection and response processes.

• Datadog administration and optimization experience is a plus.

• Familiarity with Slack integrations for alerting is a plus.

• Experience with containers, such as ECS, EKS, or Docker is a plus.

• Scripting skills in Python or Bash are a plus.

• Background in financial services or other regulated environments is a plus.

• AWS certification like SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer Professional is a plus.
