DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, maintain, and resolve issues within production infrastructure primarily hosted on AWS.

• Oversee AWS environments and services such as EC2, ALB, Lambda, S3, RDS/Aurora MySQL, DynamoDB, ElastiCache/Redis, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch, AWS Backup, and AWS WAF.

• Administer and troubleshoot systems based on Linux.

• Construct and uphold repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure utilizing Terraform.

• Enhance server and application configuration through Ansible.

• Manage containerized applications using Docker and Docker Compose.

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and operational processes.

• Monitor infrastructure and applications with tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and AWS CloudWatch.

• Oversee and resolve issues related to MySQL/Aurora, DynamoDB, and ClickHouse database infrastructure.

• Manage and troubleshoot Redis workloads using AWS ElastiCache.

• Investigate production incidents, determine root causes, and implement long-term solutions.

• Enhance platform reliability, scalability, security, and performance.

• Automate repetitive operational tasks to minimize manual infrastructure management.

• Review infrastructure modifications and contribute to technical and architectural decisions.

• Maintain processes for backup, recovery, monitoring, and alerting.

• Collaborate with developers and technical teams on application deployments within production environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must reside in time zones that span from the Americas through Southeast Asia to ensure continuous 24/7 operational coverage.

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production settings.

• Proficient in Linux administration and troubleshooting.

• Solid understanding of AWS networking, security, IAM, and infrastructure architecture.

• Production experience with AWS services including EC2, ALB, S3, RDS/Aurora, CloudWatch, and AWS Organizations.

• Significant experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.

• Familiarity with Ansible or similar configuration-management tools.

• Good working knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose.

• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Jenkins.

• Experience in operating and troubleshooting MySQL in a production environment.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch.

• Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancing, firewalls, routing, and TLS.

• Ability to diagnose complex infrastructure and application issues across various layers of a production environment.

• Comfortable working with Git and infrastructure-as-code development workflows.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS Lambda/serverless, DynamoDB, ClickHouse, Redis/AWS ElastiCache, SQS/SNS, AWS WAF, AWS Backup/disaster recovery, AWS Organizations, infrastructure security, high-availability architectures, performance troubleshooting, capacity planning, and Bash/Python scripting.
