Developmental Content Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Evaluate B2B SaaS content produced by both in-house and freelance writers.

• Revise long-form content, which includes SEO/AEO/GEO materials and thought leadership pieces.

• Occasionally assess LinkedIn copy, landing pages, and various other formats.

• Ensure that the work delivered aligns with Animalz's internal quality benchmarks and supports clients' business objectives.

• Edit for content integrity, including adherence to the brief, client goals, target audience, structure, and logical flow.

• Offer writers constructive feedback, from overarching strategies to specific inline edits.

• Manage a dedicated group of clients and provide insights informed by their business, branding, and overall strategy.

• Edit text at the line level as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in writing and editing varied content types for B2B tech, particularly long-form content (such as blog posts, ebooks, guides, etc.).

• Familiarity with SEO and AEO/GEO best practices; foundational knowledge is essential.

• Capacity to provide actionable feedback and articulate the rationale behind suggested changes, maintaining a balance of honesty and respect.

• Ability to rapidly familiarize oneself with new industries, companies, and products.

• Interest in and knowledge of the B2B tech sector and current trends and best practices in content marketing.

• Availability of 5-10 hours each week.

• Expected to submit edits within one business day upon receiving an assignment.

• Experience working in-house at a B2B tech firm (a plus).

• Background in developing and implementing content strategies (a plus).

• Experience as a manager, mentor, or coach for writers, whether formally or informally (a plus).
