This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Write executive articles for proprietary, social, and external distribution platforms.
• Conduct interviews with internal subject-matter experts, clients, and partners to uncover unique story angles and insights.
• Create sponsored editorial and co-authored articles aimed at specific trade publishers.
• Assist with live programming, including office hours, panel discussions, and ongoing dialogues with senior ModSquad representatives.
• Prepare participants for live programming, frame discussions, and convert recordings into written content.
• Monitor customer experience, trust & safety, moderation, and the outsourcing landscape.
• Evaluate competitor positioning, vendor assertions, analyst coverage, and regulatory developments.
• Develop data-driven editorial content, including original surveys, benchmark analyses, industry overviews, and data-informed commentary.
• Transform industry research into actionable arguments for practitioners.
• Identify untold stories that competitors have overlooked.
• Collaborate with Account Management and Sales to highlight client narratives.
• Create anonymized or attributed client stories that are both specific and authentic.
• Establish a systematic approach for sourcing, quantifying, and validating client stories, including business outcomes.
• Work alongside the Content & Creative Production team, collaborating with the Head of Brand and VP of Marketing.
• Provide services as needed, with weekly hours fluctuating based on project demand.
• Log time using Teambridge Systems and submit monthly invoices.
• Proven experience in covering or analyzing at least one of the following areas: customer experience, contact centers, BPO/outsourcing, trust & safety, content moderation, enterprise SaaS, or digital operations.
• Established background in journalism, trade publishing, industry analysis, or research writing—not general content marketing.
• Demonstrated executive ghostwriting skills, with published samples available.
• Experience in producing or interpreting original research, including surveys, benchmark data, or industry datasets.
• Ability to extract unique story angles and perspectives from interviews with executives, clients, and partners.
• Skill in constructing coherent and logical arguments from concepts or rough outlines.
• Familiarity with trade publication processes, including editorial pitches, sponsored content, and co-authoring.
• Knowledge of relevant publications, newsletters, and analysts within the sector.
• Proficient in working with plain text workflows, Markdown, and GitHub.
• Understanding of the Paramedic Method from "Revising Prose" or "Several Short Sentences About Writing."
• Quick, self-motivated, and capable of working independently without extensive supervision.
• Comfort in functioning as an independent contractor while collaborating with an in-house team.
• Must perform services from an eligible U.S. location, excluding New York City, New York, and Jersey City, New Jersey.
• Cover letter and writing samples must represent the applicant's own work.
• Independent contractor arrangement does not include employee benefits.

• Asynchronous work model, with some availability required during Pacific business hours as necessary.
• Potential for extension beyond the initial six-month period based on business requirements and project volume.
