Development Manager – Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and nurture a team of engineers by providing technical guidance, mentorship, and consistent feedback.

• Take ownership of delivery outcomes within the established scope, offering practical estimates, and making visible capacity and priority trade-offs.

• Assign ownership to engineers and, as the team expands, to team leads; differentiate between immediate delivery and long-term capability advancement.

• Collaborate with Product Management to set priorities, plan deliveries, and convert customer requirements into integration capabilities.

• Supervise connectors to third-party applications and services.

• Manage an Integrations Store for discovering and administrating available integrations.

• Oversee data mapping, validation, and synchronization processes between systems.

• Ensure secure authentication, authorization, and credential management practices.

• Oversee monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery processes related to integration failures.

• Provide guidance on technical decisions from solution design through development and production deployment.

• Establish reusable integration patterns that address retries, rate limits, duplicate events, and API version changes.

• Manage automated pipelines for the building, testing, validating, and deploying of integrations.

• Enhance integration reliability, performance, and observability, and assist in resolving production issues.

• Coordinate with engineering teams and external partners regarding dependencies and compatibility.

• Leverage AI technologies to improve integration development, testing, or support, ensuring appropriate validation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading software engineers and overseeing the delivery and operation of production systems.

• Strong foundational knowledge of software engineering and the capability to contribute to technical problem resolution.

• Excellent proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Experience in building and managing AWS services in a production environment.

• Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining APIs and integrations with external systems.

• Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, data consistency, and failure recovery mechanisms.

• Proficiency in SQL with experience in data modeling, aggregation, and optimizing query performance.

• Familiarity with secure authentication and authorization practices for integrations.

• Strong communication abilities and the skill to align engineering efforts with product priorities.

• Professional working proficiency in English for leading an English-speaking team and collaborating across various functions.

• Experience in writing automated integration and contract tests.

• Proficiency in SQL.

• Experience with runtime isolation and sandboxing for sensitive execution contexts.

• Background in B2B SaaS, security, compliance, or data governance.

• Experience in developing high-load products with numerous endpoints.

• Experience in maintaining integrations across multiple versions of third-party APIs.
