Development Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Define and implement a long-term strategy for backend architecture that aligns with business objectives.

• Supervise system design across various services, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure.

• Develop architectural standards, design patterns, and best engineering practices throughout the organization.

• Lead technical due diligence, perform risk assessments, and analyze trade-offs for significant engineering decisions.

• Spearhead initiatives for platform modernization and reduction of technical debt.

• Advocate for observability, performance engineering, and operational excellence.

• Manage, mentor, and nurture a team of backend architects and senior engineers.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and career development planning.

• Oversee the hiring and onboarding process for the backend architecture team.

• Promote a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

• Coordinate technical initiatives across teams and resolve architectural conflicts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in backend engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or principal capacity.

• Demonstrated success in designing and scaling distributed systems in a production environment.

• Strong background in leading and mentoring engineering teams.

• Extensive expertise in backend programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, Node.js, or similar.

• In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and API design.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure) and contemporary infrastructure practices.

• Solid understanding of database design, caching, messaging, and high-concurrency systems.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
