Development Consultant, Heavy SQL, Vista

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collect requirements and create comprehensive specifications for solutions.

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain database and SQL solutions.

• Define system scope, objectives, and development needs.

• Create, develop, and support software applications to meet client specifications and business needs.

• Provide data and database solutions across various platforms.

• Develop both front-end and back-end solutions for web, mobile, and Windows desktop applications.

• Collaborate with project managers, consultants, developers, and cross-functional teams.

• Facilitate interdepartmental communication and engage directly with clients.

• Perform testing to ensure application and database performance, security, and reliability.

• Diagnose and resolve bugs and development challenges.

• Implement unit tests and engage in code reviews.

• Offer technical guidance and assistance to junior developers.

• Suggest and execute enhancements to development processes, architecture, and tools.

• Document application and database architecture, code, and lifecycle modifications.

• Develop user manuals and other documentation for clients and end-users.

• Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and updates for existing applications and databases.

• Ensure compatibility with updated platforms and operating systems.

• Keep abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and programming languages.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or at least three years of experience in database/SQL development, or an equivalent mix of education and experience is required.

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in developing data-driven solutions using SQL, including stored procedures, triggers, views, and ad-hoc queries.

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft T-SQL is required.

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is essential.

• Familiarity with cloud platform services like AWS and Azure is preferred.

• Experience with SAP Crystal Reports, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, and Microsoft BI Services is a plus.

• Background in Architectural, Engineering and Construction, Finance, or integrated ERP systems is preferred.

• Proven track record as an Application or Database Developer or a similar role, with a portfolio of developed solutions.

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, Swift, and JavaScript.

• Strong understanding of SDLC, agile methodologies, and version control systems like Azure DevOps and Git.

• Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, and back-end technologies such as Node.js and .NET.

• Knowledge of mobile development for iOS/Android is advantageous.

• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting abilities.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Valid state-issued driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of valid auto insurance are required.

• Capability to sit for prolonged periods and use a computer and keyboard for extended durations.

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
