This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Establish and nurture a nationwide network of employers, contractors, and industry partners in the fields of clean energy, solar, construction, skilled trades, and related sectors.
• Cultivate relationships with workforce boards, chambers of commerce, industry associations, educational institutions, and community organizations.
• Analyze hiring trends, workforce requirements, and new career pathways, sharing valuable insights with workforce development and training teams.
• Advocate for fair hiring practices and promote access to clean energy careers for historically marginalized communities.
• Inform employers about workforce initiatives, subsidized employment options, hiring incentives, and various resources available.
• Engage employers for job fairs, hiring events, career days, networking opportunities, and other workforce-related activities.
• Offer personalized career coaching and employment support to SolarCorps fellows and other workforce participants.
• Connect participants to job opportunities that align with their skills, experiences, interests, and career aspirations.
• Design and coordinate work-based learning experiences, such as mentorships, mock interviews, resume evaluations, and job shadowing.
• Maintain resources and tools related to career pathways.
• Build and sustain a network of wraparound service providers and community resources.
• Oversee employer engagement, communications, outreach, and logistics for workforce events.
• Facilitate connections between participants and potential employers.
• Follow up with both employers and participants to support job placements and collect feedback on outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Communications team on employer outreach through newsletters, social media, and other communication channels.
• Organize a national Job Development community of practice.
• Create and maintain a centralized national database of employers and contractors.
• Enhance systems for tracking employer engagement, job placements, graduate outcomes, and retention rates.
• Utilize internal employment data and external labor market insights to identify trends, obstacles, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collect and analyze feedback from participants and employers.
• Report to the VP of Workforce Development and work alongside national, regional, and internal stakeholders.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in workforce development, job development, employer engagement, job placement, or a similar field.
• A demonstrated commitment to promoting economic opportunity and overcoming barriers to employment.
• Proven track record in building and managing partnerships with employers, contractors, community organizations, or workforce partners, especially in clean energy, construction, skilled trades, or related fields.
• Experience in connecting job seekers to employment opportunities and supporting individuals through career development and job placement processes.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
• Capability to work effectively across diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a collaborative, remote work setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Salesforce, and/or other CRM or workforce development systems.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Knowledge of the solar, renewable energy, construction, or skilled trades sectors and their respective career pathways.
• Experience in developing employer networks or industry partnerships.
• Familiarity with using labor market information and employment data to shape workforce strategies.
• Understanding of equity-centered workforce development practices and frameworks.
• Awareness of systemic barriers affecting access to sustainable careers, including transportation, childcare, housing instability, and economic inequality.
• A degree in workforce development, community development, social justice, education, human services, or a related discipline is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required when using a personal vehicle for work travel.
• California applicants for this position must successfully complete screening for specified illegal drugs in California.
