Developer Advocate, Edge & IoT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop demonstrations, benchmarks, and tutorials that serve as definitive resources for key search and AI-answer topics.

• Create and publish repeatable benchmarks for latency, throughput, reliability, and cost across Telnyx connectivity, Edge Compute, and Inference.

• Implement working builds on cellular modems, gateways, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32 utilizing Telnyx IoT SIM and eSIM.

• Construct reference builds that integrate connectivity, private networking, Edge Compute, and Inference, including setups for in-region inference, data residency, and zero data retention.

• Publish and sustain open-source sample applications and starter kits on GitHub.

• Transform each build into tutorials, videos, and social media content.

• Collect product feedback from GitHub, Discord, Reddit, and X for the Product and Engineering teams.

• Monitor organic traffic, AI citations, and conversions to guide future project decisions.

• Evaluate success through metrics such as search traffic, AI citations, developer signups, product activation, and usage of published benchmarks and repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in developer relations, solutions engineering, or software engineering.

• A public portfolio showcasing demos, sample applications, presentations, or technical writing utilized by developers.

• Proficient in Python and at least one of the following: C/C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.

• Experienced in writing, testing, and debugging code that operates on devices or at the edge.

• Familiar with IoT or cellular connectivity, including SIM/eSIM provisioning, APNs, LTE-M/NB-IoT, or MQTT.

• A meticulous approach to benchmarking and measurement.

• Strong technical writing skills.

• Comfortable on camera and capable of producing clear technical videos.

• Possess an operator mindset: quickly deliver working demos, assess results, and enhance outcomes.

• Knowledge of SEO, content strategy, or AI answer engines is advantageous.

• Understanding of networking fundamentals such as BGP, IPsec, VPCs, and cloud interconnects is a bonus.

• Familiarity with LLM inference and AI application patterns is a plus.

• Experience in DevRel or solutions engineering with IoT, networking, telecom, or cloud companies is an advantage.

• Published hardware projects on Raspberry Pi, ESP32, or cellular modems are a plus.

• Skills in video editing and visual design are considered a bonus.

• Awareness of compliance requirements in regulated industries is beneficial.

• Experience in delivering live demonstrations is a plus.
