This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Cultivate a vibrant sense of community among OpenObserve users, contributors, and partners.
• Formulate and implement initiatives to expand the community, including meetups, webinars, and online forums.
• Collaborate with the community to collect feedback, prioritize features, and shape the project roadmap.
• Create high-quality technical content (such as blog posts, tutorials, videos, and documentation) to highlight OpenObserve's capabilities and best practices.
• Develop engaging demos, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts to illustrate the value of OpenObserve.
• Represent OpenObserve at industry conferences, meetups, and hackathons to advocate for the project and foster relationships with key stakeholders.
• Design and deliver technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions to educate developers about OpenObserve.
• Offer technical support and guidance to developers through various platforms (e.g., GitHub, Slack, forums).
• Assist in troubleshooting issues, providing code reviews, and offering best practices advice.
• Lead discussions on technical solutions with customers, diving into intricate details to address complex technical business challenges and utilizing your expertise to devise scalable, flexible, and resilient solutions.
• Conduct both one-on-one and group training sessions to impart knowledge to customers considering or currently utilizing OpenObserve.
• Collaborate closely with the OpenObserve engineering team to remain informed about the latest developments and to provide feedback on the project roadmap.
• Partner with other open-source projects and industry partners to uncover opportunities for integration and growth.
• Over 3 years of experience in a developer advocacy or related role, specifically focused on open-source technologies.
• Strong technical foundation in software development, with proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and writing skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker), orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and observability tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, OpenObserve, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
• Deep understanding of the open-source ecosystem and the significance of community engagement.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a remote team, demonstrating strong self-motivation and time management skills.
• Willingness to travel to industry events and conferences (approximately 20% of the time).
