Developer Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop content that resonates with developers and analysts: practical tutorials, clear explanations, honest feedback, and demonstrations rooted in real-world scenarios.

• Serve as an editor and curator for internal engineers, guest contributors, marketing team members, and other advocates.

• Create video content (screencasts, shorts, explainers) to enhance Metabase's educational outreach.

• Design and implement strategies to build, empower, and cultivate Metabase's developer community through events, meetups, livestreams, courses, social media, and partnerships.

• Foster genuine relationships with developers, community leaders, contributors, and power users.

• Monitor and evaluate community health and content performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of initiatives in achieving their objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in SQL, databases, metrics, and analytics workflows.

• Experience in community building across platforms such as Twitter/X, YouTube, Twitch, Discord, blogs, meetups, public speaking, and live events.

• Communication style that is clear, direct, and approachable.

• Identify as both a teacher and a learner, a builder and a doer.

• Possess empathy, inclusivity, and warmth.

• Demonstrate sound judgment in knowing when to speak, listen, or step back entirely.

• Ability to create content independently.

• Bonus: Experience contributing to or developing open-source projects.

• Bonus: Familiarity with embedded analytics, BI tools, or the modern data stack.
