Designer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist the team in achieving objectives related to scope, schedule, and delivery requirements.

• Foster relationships with team members, stakeholders from both government and company sectors, as well as program management colleagues.

• Execute tactical program tasks and strategic initiatives.

• Produce discovery artifacts, sketches, rough prototypes, wireframes, user experience flows, and high-fidelity prototypes.

• Aid in the development and communication of milestones and ensure delivery within your area of expertise.

• Collaborate with Senior Designers for mentorship and guidance.

• Conduct competitive analysis and present findings to stakeholders.

• Enhance design libraries with visual design elements and brand artifacts.

• Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to facilitate discussions and clarify goals.

• Mentor and coach designers by offering constructive feedback.

• Cultivate storytelling skills to create engaging artifacts and presentations.

• Lead human-centered design processes and their corresponding deliverables.

• Identify potential risks, communicate these to leadership, and propose mitigation strategies.

• Potentially create and manage content for highly visible websites or applications in line with design guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree along with 5+ years of relevant experience.

• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

• Progressive experience in design principles and associated technologies.

• Understanding of the roles they interact with and how their contributions affect business objectives.

• Proficiency with design software such as Figma, Miro, Adobe, or other design tools.

• Capability to navigate through ambiguous requirements and environments.

• Knowledge of typography and design hierarchy.

• Familiarity with human-centered design processes and deliverables that comply with standards and regulations.

• May lead accessibility initiatives, including 508 compliance and awareness of emerging accessibility standards.
