This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design and development of DDC control systems for HVAC, lighting, energy management, and various building systems.
• Produce system architecture diagrams, wiring schematics, control panel layouts, and operational sequences.
• Ensure that designs meet project specifications, building codes, industry standards, and client expectations.
• Specify and select controllers, sensors, actuators, and other necessary components.
• Analyze and enhance engineering processes to boost efficiency, reduce design cycle duration, and ensure consistency.
• Develop and uphold standard operating procedures, templates, and design libraries.
• Identify and implement tools and technologies that enhance design quality and productivity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and promote continuous improvement.
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for implemented process enhancements.
• Partner with project engineers, managers, and clients to gather requirements and produce designs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior designers and engineers.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding component compatibility, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Act as a liaison between design, project management, and installation teams.
• Review system designs for accuracy, functionality, and compliance with standards.
• Conduct value engineering to optimize performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including submittals, as-built drawings, and system narratives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during installation and commissioning phases.
• Stay updated on DDC technologies, building automation trends, and best engineering practices.
• Introduce innovative solutions to enhance functionality, energy efficiency, and maintainability.
• Contribute to strategic growth and leadership in the field of DDC systems design.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in designing DDC control systems.
• Proficiency in building automation protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, control panel design, and applicable building codes.
• Expertise in CAD software and controls design tools.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies is advantageous.
• Capacity to implement process enhancements and streamline engineering workflows.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
