This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design and creation of extensive DDC control systems for HVAC, lighting, energy management, and various building systems.
• Develop system architecture diagrams, wiring schematics, control panel layouts, and operational sequences.
• Ensure that designs adhere to project specifications, building regulations, industry standards, and client expectations.
• Specify and select controllers, sensors, actuators, and other essential components.
• Analyze and enhance engineering processes to boost efficiency, shorten design cycles, and maintain design consistency.
• Create and uphold standard operating procedures, templates, and design libraries.
• Identify and adopt tools and technologies that improve design quality and productivity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs to assess process enhancements.
• Work with project engineers, managers, and clients to gather requirements and translate them into designs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior designers and engineers.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding component compatibility, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Act as a liaison among design, project management, and installation teams.
• Conduct design reviews for accuracy, functionality, and compliance.
• Perform value engineering to enhance performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including submittals, as-built drawings, and system narratives.
• Assist implementation teams by resolving design-related challenges during installation and commissioning.
• Stay updated on DDC technologies, building automation trends, and best engineering practices.
• Introduce innovative solutions to enhance functionality, energy efficiency, and maintainability.
• Contribute to the strategic growth and positioning of the company in DDC systems design.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in designing DDC control systems.
• Proven history of successfully leading projects.
• Proficiency in building automation protocols, such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, control panel design, and applicable building codes.
• Expertise in CAD software and control design tools.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to implement process enhancements and optimize engineering workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
