Design Front-Suspension Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the redesign of front suspension systems for advanced electric vehicles.

• Shift from transverse leaf springs to coil-over spring designs.

• Create both conceptual and detailed designs for front suspension systems, which include subframe and wheel-end components.

• Conduct package studies to ensure compatibility with steering, driveline, and chassis interfaces.

• Assess carryover, modified, and new design trade-offs concerning cost, mass, durability, and serviceability.

• Collaborate with chassis, driveline, and thermal engineering teams to ensure designs meet vehicle-level requirements.

• Document assumptions, risks, and interfaces to facilitate informed decision-making.

• Lead design reviews and present technical recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in suspension/chassis design within the automotive or electric vehicle industry.

• Proficiency in CATIA V5/3DEXPERIENCE (required for surface modeling, assembly, and drafting).

• Background in durability analysis, ride & handling, and torque steer mitigation.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work in dynamic, multidisciplinary teams.

• Proficient in English (for technical communication with global teams).

• Willingness to relocate to the USA (support for visa/work permit is available if needed).

• Basic management skills: ability to mentor junior engineers, coordinate tasks, and manage small projects.

• Preferred: experience with electric vehicle architectures or electrified driveline systems.

• Preferred: knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

• Preferred: familiarity with simulation tools (ANSYS, ADAMS, MATLAB/Simulink).
