This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +5 more countries.
• Carry out design research and compile architectural concepts.
• Create sketches, designs, and drawings throughout various RIBA stages.
• Operate independently and produce intermediate outcomes on a weekly basis.
• Report to the lead project architect and collaborate with interior designers, CGI artists, MEP and structural engineers, FF&E procurement, and client representatives.
• Focus mainly on the initial design phases, dedicating around 75% of time to RIBA 1–3, and up to 25% on supervision and advisory tasks in RIBA 4–5.
• Engage as a design architect on high-end hospitality projects.
• Perform feasibility studies, volumetric proposals, area calculations, and land plot evaluations.
• Interpret design briefs and collaborate with client representatives.
• Develop presentations, mood boards, and reference materials.
• Produce architectural concepts and sketches.
• Create concept designs, massing proposals, volumetric studies, layouts, and free-form designs.
• Enhance ergonomics and circulation while balancing aesthetics, functionality, and operations.
• Transform volumetric studies into concept layouts, Revit models, and CGI inputs.
• Refine concept layouts during schematic and detailed design phases.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, and local Architect of Record teams while maintaining design intent.
• Assist FF&E procurement with quantity calculations, material research, and detailing.
• Investigate hospitality trends, technologies, materials, and methodologies, proposing innovative solutions.
• Mentor junior team members, oversee BIM modelers, and enhance design storytelling and presentation skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in architectural design.
• Experience with low-rise residential and hospitality projects, including private homes, villas, hotels, and resorts.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp, or Rhino, Lumion, Enscape, or similar sketch-oriented presentation software.
• Advanced/Fluent English, both written and verbal.
• Portfolio is required.
• Ability to work within Central European Time or UK hours.
• Must not require visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.
• Participate in projects from concept to realization: contribute throughout the entire architectural journey, from initial vision and planning to execution and operational experience.
• Design with lasting impact: create spaces intended to become globally recognized hospitality destinations.
• Engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration: work closely with interiors, landscape, construction, operations, and guest experience teams from the project’s inception.
• Influence creativity from the start: provide input before projects are confined to rigid systems or external frameworks.
• Gain global architectural exposure: work on location-specific projects shaped by diverse cultural, environmental, and hospitality contexts.
• Adhere to high design standards: join a team that places a strong emphasis on detail, materiality, atmosphere, and timeless hospitality design.
• Acquire end-to-end development insights: gain experience not only in design but also in execution, operations, and the realities of luxury hospitality development.
• Experience luxury standards and materials: work with elevated design references, premium finishes, and globally inspired concepts.
• Shape guest experiences through design: contribute to how spaces function both emotionally and aesthetically.
