This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Enhance the Customer Engagement organization and steer the regional team towards achieving organizational objectives.
• Formulate and execute the Regional Customer Engagement Strategy.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Medical, Patient Services, and Market Access departments.
• Monitor and communicate key performance indicators, address underperformance, and replicate both regional and national successes.
• Build diverse teams through effective talent acquisition, development, and succession planning.
• Achieve regional sales targets while working collaboratively on a national scale.
• Establish team accountability, communicate and oversee KPIs, and engage all performance levels.
• Cultivate a shared vision, set clear expectations, empower team members, and enhance processes.
• Create, implement, and manage a regional business plan centered on customer needs.
• Collaborate with Area Business Leaders and cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience and boost product demand among HCPs, key accounts, and Systems of Care.
• Participate in the national leadership team to strengthen regional capabilities, enhance business performance, promote team growth, and foster organizational culture.
• Ensure team activities adhere to the Novartis Code of Ethics and relevant policies and procedures.
• Advocate for regional budget allocation and optimize the use of strategic face-to-face and omnichannel resources.
• Promote an environment that encourages ideas, collaboration, experimentation, and learning from failures.
• Develop plans for team growth, nurture development, and improve performance.
• Utilize analytics platforms to inform decisions and identify risks and opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required.
• Over 10 years of experience in commercial pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams, or other complex sales environments.
• At least 5 years of experience as a first-line sales manager.
• Strong critical thinking skills and an enterprise mindset.
• Experience in managing field organizations during periods of change, innovation, or growth is highly valued.
• Demonstrated success in driving sales performance, leading cross-functional teams, and executing strategy within matrixed, multi-regional environments.
• Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent while building dedicated teams.
• Strong cross-functional leadership skills.
• Experience in developing and completing business and incentive plans in sophisticated sales environments.
• Operational skills, financial and business acumen, strategic and analytical thinking, along with budget management experience.
• Must reside in the region or be within a reasonable commuting distance to a metropolitan airport.
• Willingness to travel 60–80% across a broad geography.
• Capability to drive and/or fly within the territory.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
• Proven leadership experience as a second-line sales manager is desirable.
• Cross-functional experience in market access, reimbursement, or account management is desirable.
• Understanding of payer landscapes, buy and bill, and specialty pharmacy is desirable.
• Must successfully complete the required initial training for field roles within a dedicated training period.
