This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Provide high-level operational and administrative leadership for the virtual school.
• Execute the school's academic vision and promote student achievement.
• Supervise daily school operations and guide the school leadership team.
• Collaborate with the Head of School and School Board on the vision, mission, decisions, and policies.
• Spearhead the implementation of the School Improvement Plan and Turnaround Plan.
• Utilize student performance data and instructional evidence to pinpoint underperformance, track progress, and modify strategies.
• Liaise with school leadership, governing board, authorizing district, and state personnel on turnaround commitments.
• Direct targeted strategies and supports for students at risk of academic failure.
• Enhance instructional quality through coaching, professional development, feedback, and monitoring.
• Ensure the effective execution of the instructional model, curriculum, resources, assessments, and targeted instruction.
• Oversee career pathways and postsecondary opportunity programs.
• Partner with industry and higher education stakeholders.
• Navigate regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to applicable laws and authorizing agency standards.
• Develop educational program plans and policies, overseeing their implementation.
• Collaborate on school budgeting, marketing, and enrollment strategies.
• Serve as a public relations representative for the school community.
• Recruit, hire, retain, evaluate, and develop staff members.
• Foster a positive school culture among staff, students, families, and community leaders.
• Maintain school census, attendance records, and necessary reporting data.
• Coordinate audit responses, security protocols, emergency plans, and technology initiatives.
• Monitor school accountability and report card metrics.
• Maintain parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks.
• Communicate the school mission and vision while seeking family input.
• Organize special projects, peer mentoring, service learning, community involvement, and student orientation programs.
• Master’s degree in education or a closely related field, or relevant educational administrative experience.
• Current administrative and teaching licenses are mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in education, including at least five years as a K–12 administrator.
• Proven track record of successfully leading school turnaround in a low-performing K–12 school, with documented, measurable improvements in student achievement and learning gains.
• Experience supporting students at risk of academic failure and/or leading in an alternative education environment.
• Experience in implementing and monitoring school improvement or turnaround plans.
• Ability to provide tangible evidence of turnaround results.
• Three or more years of experience in an instructional role within an online school.
• Fundamental understanding of Career and Technical Education (CTE).
• Three or more years of experience with CTE, including developing and maintaining external partnerships.
• Familiarity with research-based instructional practices for project-based learning.
• Knowledge of applicable state academic standards, including Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards.
• Understanding of state school accountability and report card components.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize competing responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
• Capability to manage confidential information appropriately.
• Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction and targeted interventions.
• Experience with online learning and relevant educational research.
• Comprehension of distance learning methodology, implementation, and effectiveness measurement.
• Understanding of employee evaluation processes in a corporate or nonprofit environment.
• Strong skills in building relationships and engaging with the community.
• In-depth knowledge of curriculum development and program design.
• Proven success in managing nonprofit or for-profit operations.
• History of success in building community partnerships and fundraising.

• Familiarity with school and nonprofit management.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks.
