This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Assist the Design Manager with daily project coordination across various disciplines for colocation and hyperscale data center initiatives.
• Create and circulate meeting agendas as well as minutes.
• Take technical notes and collaborate with discipline leads to verify their accuracy.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings, documenting decisions, risks, and action items.
• Monitor, manage, and communicate project modifications both internally and externally.
• Make progress toward serving as the backup Design Manager.
• Facilitate internal and external design meetings utilizing Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and client-specific platforms.
• Track action items and ensure follow-ups with internal teams.
• Distribute communications to clients and internal updates.
• Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions, and tracking logs.
• Update spreadsheets, dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools.
• Provide assistance with specification edits, data entry, and updates to internal reporting systems.
• Develop mechanisms for tracking and propose process enhancements.
• Manage project files across SharePoint, MS Teams, Google Drive, and Box.
• Ensure that QA/QC sets, daily prints, and deliverables are prepared and appropriately stored.
• Compile and organize final deliverables.
• Support Design and Project Managers in technical and financial proposals for data center projects.
• BA/BS degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or a proven equivalence of experience and/or education.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in A/E firms.
• Preferred: bachelor's degree in architecture, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or architecture license.
• Preferred: 4 years of relevant design and/or project management experience.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in colocation and/or hyperscale data center design management or engineering.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Capacity to operate in dynamic, time-sensitive environments.
• Ability to work remotely from a U.S. location where AECOM has an office.
• Occasional pre-scheduled travel may be necessary.
• Sponsorship is not available.
• Attendance at in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office is required.
