Dental Field Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct on-site acquisition, installation, servicing, and support of dental digital equipment across dental and specialty practices nationwide.

• Install, remove, and/or certify both new and certified pre-owned panoramic X-ray and cone beam equipment along with associated computers.

• Perform calibration and quality testing to ensure installation standards are met.

• Install and maintain dental surgical microscopes.

• Provide training to small groups of staff on basic equipment, hardware functions, and software applications.

• Enhance technician knowledge through co-travel certifications.

• Oversee third-party helpers by assigning and supervising their tasks.

• Execute performance evaluations on purchased equipment to confirm quality and condition.

• Properly maintain tools and testing equipment.

• Facilitate the installation of capital equipment, including electrical and low-voltage connections utilizing construction knowledge and appropriate tools.

• Diagnose and resolve equipment, computer, software, and connectivity issues.

• Work independently on designated tasks or under the guidance of senior technicians, depending on experience level.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.

• Technical training or relevant industry experience in digital CBCT is preferred.

• Basic understanding of Windows OS and general networking principles is essential.

• Proficiency with power and hand tools is necessary.

• Exceptional communication skills — must be clear, calm, and professional in both phone and email interactions.

• A strong desire to learn about new products, systems, and technologies is required.

• A positive, team-oriented mindset and dedication to assisting others in achieving success are crucial.

• Experience in installing medical or dental equipment and imaging systems is an advantage.

• Graduation from an electronics/technology program, MCSE, or equivalent is a plus.

• Proven ability in component-level troubleshooting is advantageous.

• Prior experience in the dental, surgical, or medical device industry is beneficial.

• Familiarity with residential and commercial building/construction methods is a plus.

• Military technical training, veteran status, or previous military experience in relevant technical fields is highly regarded and may count as valid experience.

• Willingness to travel primarily within the region is essential.

• Occasional travel over weekends or holidays may be required.

• Candidates should live within one hour of a major airport.

• Ability to travel with necessary tools and/or parts for installation or servicing is required.

• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Capability to obtain a passport if international travel is necessary (rare).
