Dental Benefits Verification Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Gather and verify dental insurance benefit and eligibility information within specified timeframes.

• Input payer and insurance verification details accurately into practice management software, encompassing restrictions, coverage, deductibles, remaining benefits, and history.

• Promptly notify the manager of any inability to secure verification or incomplete information.

• Maintain an organized system for both initial and follow-up verification of benefits.

• Generate daily reports detailing verification-of-benefit activities.

• Prepare and manage individual patient files and documentation using an electronic HIPAA-compliant application or patient chart.

• Keep the supervisor updated on issues related to verification of benefits.

• Represent the company professionally while upholding confidentiality, integrity, and honesty in all company matters.

• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum of 2 years experience in account audits within a fast-paced dental practice.

• Proficient in one or more dental software systems, such as Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or others.

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Proficient with PDF and/or Foxit software.

• Preferred experience in dental offices or insurance verification.

• Familiarity with dental terminology.

• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Quick learner, personable, friendly, and a collaborative team player.

• Ability to assess issues and troubleshoot to find effective solutions.
