This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead Nova’s Defined Benefit Team, overseeing a team of 10–15 actuaries and DB specialists.
• Ensure high service quality for both internal and external combo plan clients while monitoring progress against performance metrics.
• Train, mentor, and develop junior staff, providing constructive feedback.
• Conduct salary and performance evaluations.
• Advocate for and uphold Nova’s values and policies, reinforcing expectations.
• Collaborate effectively with Nova’s Combo Account Management, Sales, and leadership teams.
• Act as an escalation point for intricate DB and combo plan service challenges.
• Stay updated with new and proposed regulations and legislation.
• Assist in delivering Nova’s annual broker cash balance plan external webinar.
• Oversee the process of DB plan terminations and work on streamlining it.
• Establish a team and processes for the efficient and accurate completion of DB plan distribution packages.
• Manage special client projects, coordinating priorities, communicating progress, and ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
• Perform additional duties as necessary.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the retirement plan industry, including substantial experience with defined benefit plans, cash balance plans, or combo plan administration.
• At least 5 years of supervisory or management experience within the retirement plan sector.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Strong understanding of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, and nondiscrimination testing, including ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy, and 401(a)(4) requirements.
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively to meet weekly goals in a results-driven team environment.
• Capable of interpreting provisions of pre-approved and individually designed plan documents.

• Must be based in the United States and authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
• Relevant retirement plan credentials are preferred, such as NIPA, ASPPA, EA, ASA, or other actuarial or retirement plan qualifications.
• A degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, accounting, business, or a related field is preferred.
