DecSecOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the implementation and upkeep of secure CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment procedures.

• Embed security measures, vulnerability assessments, and code quality evaluations into software delivery processes.

• Set up and maintain DevSecOps tools and platforms, encompassing source control, CI/CD, testing, and security solutions.

• Work alongside development teams to locate, address, and resolve security and quality concerns.

• Aid in repository migrations, modernization of pipelines, and enhancements to the DevSecOps platform.

• Facilitate containerized application deployments and platform engineering tasks within cloud and hybrid infrastructures.

• Create and uphold automation scripts, reusable pipeline templates, and deployment standards.

• Oversee DevSecOps tools, assist with upgrades and maintenance tasks, and contribute to platform reliability and performance.

• Engage in Agile development practices and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve application delivery goals.

• Advocate for secure coding practices and take part in continuous improvement initiatives to boost DevSecOps maturity and operational effectiveness.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be acceptable.

• At least five (5) years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, software engineering, platform engineering, or related technical fields.

• Proficiency in supporting CI/CD platforms and software delivery methodologies.

• Familiarity with cloud-based and containerized environments.

• Experience working collaboratively with development, infrastructure, and security teams.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, or similar technologies.

• Knowledge of application security principles, secure coding practices, and concepts related to vulnerability management.

• Experience in supporting automated deployments, source code management, and software delivery pipelines.

• Acquainted with code quality, security scanning, and software composition analysis tools.

• Familiarity with container technologies like OpenShift, Kubernetes, or similar platforms.

• Exposure to cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.

• Proficiency in scripting or automation languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with DevSecOps tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Sonatype, Katalon, or similar platforms.

• Background in supporting repository migrations or modernization of CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with GitHub Advanced Security or comparable security solutions.

• Knowledge of policy-as-code frameworks and concepts of infrastructure automation.

• Possession of security, cloud, or DevOps-related certifications.

• Experience working in government, defense, engineering, or other highly regulated sectors.
