Databricks Analytics Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist clients of the Department of Veterans Affairs in maximizing data value and automating business processes.

• Execute data querying, data wrangling, data visualization, dashboarding, predictive analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, and application development.

• Investigate and implement data science principles, theories, and techniques to guide healthcare business decisions.

• Perform economic modeling, statistical analysis, and conduct market surveys.

• Create tools, techniques, and theories to aid ongoing client research.

• Utilize predictive and prescriptive analytics to anticipate outcomes based on probabilities and confidence levels.

• Provide support for client services, business development, internal firm initiatives, and professional growth.

• Design governed analytics and data applications within Azure Databricks.

• Employ Unity Catalog for governance of data and AI, Databricks Apps for application delivery, and Azure commercial cloud services for scalable solution development and deployment.

• Potentially formulate methodologies and analyze operations of health plans and providers.

• Contribute to responses for RFP/RFQ, white papers, concept papers, and prototype solutions for clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Relevant experience may substitute for formal education or advanced degree).

• A minimum of FOUR (4) years of professional work experience.

• Previous consulting experience or similar work is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Acquainted with Python, SQL, or PySpark.

• Familiarity with Azure Databricks and its key components, including Unity Catalog, Databricks Apps, and the Azure commercial cloud environment.

• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

• Up to 10% travel may be required.

• A current PIV and ePAS form to access common VA data systems is advantageous.

• Knowledge of the Department of Veterans Affairs and/or Veterans Health Administration environment is a plus.

• Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, or PySpark is beneficial.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are preferred.
