Database Administrator – MariaDB, MySQL, Cassandra, SQL Server

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Dominican Republic, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and sustain scalable database architectures.

• Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and resolve issues.

• Oversee backups, recovery processes, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Collaborate with development teams to enhance database queries and structures.

• Ensure database security and adherence to organizational policies.

• Plan and execute upgrades and migrations of databases.

• Automate routine database tasks through scripts or tools.

• Provide support for database-related challenges during both development and production phases.

• Develop and manage ETL processes.

• Work alongside software development teams to design database architectures for new features.

• Implement data transformation and migration pipelines between databases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, including MariaDB, MySQL, Cassandra, and SQL Server.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in spoken English (B2+).

• Expertise in SQL, database design, and optimization techniques.

• Knowledgeable about database migration methods and tools.

• Experience in data modeling and normalization practices.

• Strong grasp of indexing, partitioning, and query optimization strategies.

• Proficient in crafting complex SQL queries and stored procedures.

• Solid knowledge of Linux and Windows operating environments.

• Experience with database performance monitoring and profiling tools is preferred.

• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Azure DevOps, is preferred.

• Capability to meet physical requirements, including sitting, handling objects/tools/controls, reaching, speaking, and hearing.
