Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Provide daily operational assistance for designated databases and platforms.

• Lead the design and execution of new database installations for sanctioned projects and initiatives.

• Monitor and sustain assigned systems, including backup and recovery, updates, patches, hotfixes, and capacity planning in collaboration with Systems Engineering.

• Develop and uphold policies and procedures for system maintenance and continuity.

• Assist in solution design, encompassing database schemas, stored procedures, functions, and SQL query optimization.

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain system interfaces to enhance and automate business processes.

• Create and maintain documentation for the solutions developed.

• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives toward project completion while adhering to global standards and practices.

• Provide advanced technical support for IT Systems Engineers, Support Engineers, and Service Desk personnel.

• Mentor team members and ensure cross-training for assigned systems and applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and the associated SQL Server toolset.

• Advanced understanding of database security, backup and recovery processes, and performance monitoring standards.

• Comprehensive knowledge of relational and dimensional data modeling.

• Capability to work effectively and assume a leadership role in an international, multi-cultural team environment.

• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve desired results.

• Excellent time management and workload management skills.

• Experience with Manufacturing Systems, including LIMS, PI, and Aspen Tech.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in database administration and advanced database support.
