Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Lead client and project initiatives to identify requirements and establish database design strategies.

• Evaluate user needs and create technical specifications to ensure optimal performance, security, and data integrity.

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain robust database solutions.

• Automate data processes and enhance reporting capabilities.

• Monitor and improve database performance.

• Oversee production support tasks, including backup/recovery and archiving processes.

• Establish and enforce database standards.

• Maintain documentation and assess emerging technologies.

• Offer guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

• Support essential healthcare operations and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in database engineering, design, and development within enterprise environments.

• Extensive knowledge of SQL Server, including Always On Availability Groups (AOAG).

• In-depth expertise in PostgreSQL, particularly with Aurora.

• Strong proficiency in AWS services, including RDS and EC2.

• Experience with database design methodologies and development in multi-tenant environments.

• Skilled in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.

• Excellent performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Familiarity with tools such as SolarWinds DPA, SQL Query Store, pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.

• Strong analytical and communication abilities.

• Remote-based opportunity available within the United States.
