This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist with analytical initiatives to uncover business opportunities, address business inquiries, and devise business solutions.
• Comprehend business requirements and formulate research and implementation strategies utilizing data, statistical models, and machine learning methods.
• Collaborate with UW, Claims, Marketing, and Advertising teams to grasp business processes and requirements.
• Identify pertinent business data sources, carry out assigned project tasks, and execute ad-hoc analyses employing statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Operate autonomously while receiving guidance from senior data scientists and management.
• Engage in conversations regarding analysis requirements and review findings with peers and supervisors.
• Offer data support and work alongside the business to facilitate implementation through analytical or IT processes.
• Develop monitoring procedures and reports for projects that have been implemented and recognize opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Extract structured and unstructured data from diverse sources and utilize advanced data manipulation techniques for analysis.
• Assess data accuracy and optimize data retrieval methods.
• Design, sustain, and enhance dynamic reports, graphs, and charts via dashboards, programming, and MS Excel.
• Establish streamlined and automated analysis processes to cut costs and boost efficiency.
• Address business inquiries and perform ad-hoc analysis pertinent to reports.
• Communicate with SMEs, EBI, IT, and management to comprehend functional processes and KPIs.
• Create presentations that elucidate identified issues and potential solutions.
• Share findings and recommendations during meetings using impactful graphs and PowerPoint presentations.
• Maintain consistent attendance on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week.
• Execute other assigned duties.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or other related fields.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in data mining and data/statistical analysis.
• At least 2 years of experience with SQL and statistical software packages (Python, R, SAS).
• A minimum of 1 year of experience serving as a data scientist or in a similar capacity, with a proven record in data processing, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
• At least 1 year of experience in insurance or financial service sectors.
• Proven strong skills in data mining, machine learning, programming, and optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud-based advanced data and analytics environments.
• Experience utilizing R, Python, and other programming languages.
• Strong data skills and the capability to work with large structured and unstructured data sources.
• Experience in predictive modeling, general model development, and validation processes.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
