This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and develop interactive safety visualizations that transition from aggregate performance trends to filtered subsets, individual records, and relevant data points.
• Construct and sustain dashboards and analytical applications tailored for both technical users and leadership audiences.
• Produce data marts, analytical tables, and various data products that facilitate scalable visualization and reporting.
• Define, implement, and manage business logic for metric reporting aggregations, uptime measurements, benchmarks, comparisons, and supporting dimensions.
• Create data-quality checks, assertions, and monitoring processes.
• Enhance data preparation, modeling, and application workflows for hourly or intra-day refreshes, ensuring reliable service-level performance.
• Automate reporting processes that encompass metric definitions, data sources, data lineage, quality status, statistical context, and ongoing improvement tracking.
• Utilize statistical methods to assess uncertainty, compare performance, interpret variations, and conduct statistical tests.
• Collaborate with safety engineers, analysts, data engineers, program teams, leaders, and technical stakeholders.
• Convert analytical requirements into tangible needs and suitable tools.
• Convey intricate analytical findings through both visual and written formats.
• Establish reusable patterns for visualization, data modeling, testing, and documentation.
• Aid in automated driving safety decision-making and the continuous enhancement of systems.
• Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of pertinent experience in data science, analytics engineering, data visualization, reporting, or a comparable discipline.
• Proficient programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Python-based applications.
• Background in developing intricate, interactive, Python-based visualizations or analytical applications using modern visualization libraries for extensive datasets and user groups.
• Familiarity with designing data models, analytical tables, data marts, or data pipelines that support reporting and visualization efforts.
• Experience in managing hourly or intra-day data refreshes, application performance, and service-level objectives.
• Ability to translate vague stakeholder requirements into precise analytical needs and usable data products.
• Practical knowledge of uncertainty, statistical comparison, statistical inference, and statistical testing.
• Must not require GM immigration sponsorship presently or in the future.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
