This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and validate predictive models, machine learning models, and artificial intelligence solutions that enhance operational, clinical, financial, and marketing business processes.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate analytical plans for projects.
• Manage progress across multiple simultaneous projects.
• Present models and analyses to management effectively.
• Mentor junior Data Scientists who are new or in development.
• Mine and analyze extensive structured and unstructured datasets.
• Utilize a diverse array of data sources to create algorithms for risk prediction, understanding risk drivers, detecting outliers, and related applications.
• Create visualizations that demonstrate the effectiveness of algorithms.
• Conduct statistical validation and analysis of outcomes related to clinical programs and interventions.
• Innovate models that position CareSource as a leader in advanced healthcare analytics.
• Assess new software and tools to enhance data science capabilities.
• Lead collaborative efforts with other teams to integrate solutions.
• Convey results and concepts to key stakeholders.
• Prepare code for the operationalization of end-to-end model pipelines and business deliverables.
• Perform additional job duties as requested.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required.
• At least five (5) years of experience in data analysis and/or analytic programming is required.
• Familiarity with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and modern data stack tools such as Databricks or Snowflakes is required.
• Expert knowledge of a scientific programming language like Python or R and SQL.
• Experience in developing reports or dashboards using Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
• Ability to perform basic statistical analyses and techniques, including A/B testing, general significance testing, and sampling methodologies.
• Extensive understanding of predictive modeling and machine learning algorithms, including generalized linear models, non-linear supervised learning models, clustering, decision trees, dimensionality reduction, and natural language processing.
• Proficient in feature engineering techniques and exploratory data analysis.
• Working knowledge of optimization techniques and artificial intelligence methods.
• Ability to analyze large volumes of information and identify patterns, irregularities, and deficiencies.
• Proven analytical skills in resolving multi-dimensional problems and experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presenting to business stakeholders.
• Comfortable reading academic research papers and applying their findings in models.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access).
• Demonstrated critical thinking, verbal communication, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
