Data Scientist II – Strategy and Credit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and refine predictive models for credit risk, customer churn, propensity, and revenue utilizing machine learning and statistical methods.

• Develop and improve features by converting raw data into meaningful, reusable, and dependable variables.

• Create reproducible data pipelines with clean and reliable coding practices.

• Establish and oversee model quality metrics, such as KS, AUC/Gini, precision, recall, uplift, and business impact.

• Contribute to Stone’s strategy and credit operations by providing models for underwriting, credit limits, provisioning, and strategic decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in developing predictive models using machine learning and statistical techniques.

• Solid grounding in statistics and modeling, including model validation, calibration, discrimination, and stability assessment.

• Proficient in Python and major machine learning libraries, such as Scikit-learn, XGBoost/LightGBM, and Pandas.

• Excellent and proactive communication skills to report on analysis progress, address inquiries from the technical team, and present results clearly and objectively.

• Experience in credit, risk management, or financial services is advantageous.

• Proficiency in SQL and experience in managing large datasets using Spark, Databricks, or BigQuery are beneficial.
