This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Design and enhance optimization models for capacity planning, routing, scheduling, and resource distribution.
• Define business challenges utilizing decision variables, objectives, and operational constraints.
• Support root-cause analysis to uncover opportunities for optimization and automation within field operations.
• Create, test, and sustain forecasting, regression, classification, and anomaly-detection models for operational challenges.
• Prepare and verify data, engineer features, and assess model outcomes.
• Develop reproducible data pipelines and automate ongoing analyses, model executions, and reporting tasks.
• Contribute to shared tools, frameworks, and standards to ensure solutions are replicable.
• Manage data models in Snowflake that are utilized by analysts and downstream applications.
• Generate dashboards and decision-support tools that translate results into actionable insights.
• Document logic, methodologies, and assumptions related to models, tools, and pipelines.
• Communicate findings and limitations in straightforward language to the team and operational stakeholders.
• Report to the Director of Operations Data Science & AI while collaborating with engineers and operational stakeholders.
• A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field is mandatory.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in data science, machine learning, or quantitative analytics.
• Relevant internships, co-op experiences, or graduate research may be considered as part of the experience.
• Practical experience in formulating and solving mixed-integer linear programming models is essential.
• Proficiency in Gurobi, Pyomo, OR-Tools, PuLP, CPLEX, or similar optimization libraries or solvers is required.
• Strong SQL skills on a modern cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake.
• Proficient in Python for analysis and model development.
• Experience in building, testing, and validating forecasting, regression, classification, or other predictive models.
• Proven ability to create reproducible data pipelines and automate ongoing analyses and model workflows.
• Capable of conveying analytical and model outputs through clear visualizations and practical decision-support tools.
• Ability to articulate methods and results clearly and document work to ensure reproducibility and reviewability.
• Skillful in transforming vaguely defined operational issues into precise analytical questions and practical solutions.
• Familiarity with machine learning and mathematical optimization through experience or coursework.
• Exposure to cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or AWS is a plus.
• Experience supporting Operations, Supply Chain, logistics, or other capacity-constrained businesses is advantageous.
• Must be able to sit at a desk and use a computer for up to 8 hours daily.
• Ability to use hands and fingers for typing on a keyboard and navigating with a mouse.
• Sufficient vision to view small details on a computer monitor.
• Capacity to stand and walk for up to 8 hours daily; ability to stoop, bend, and lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to hear and communicate verbally using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
