Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of analytical models and processes for major projects.

• Manage the technical components of projects, including tool selection, implementation methods, and procedures.

• Provide guidance to analytics team members through code evaluations, technical direction, and support.

• Process and analyze extensive datasets from various sources using intelligent criteria and mapping techniques.

• Handle data manipulation and develop as well as maintain models that contribute value and produce key performance indicators.

• Work in collaboration with Product and Client Services to ensure analytics outputs meet business requirements.

• Record findings and suggestions, communicating them effectively.

• Lead project execution and ensure that data solutions are reliable, scalable, impactful, and industry-leading.

• Mentor other data scientists.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in a data science or applied analytics role, with a clear track record of increasing responsibilities.

• Experience addressing domain-specific challenges, ideally in the fields of agriculture or sustainability.

• Capability to work efficiently within an agile team environment.

• Exceptional organizational, documentation, and project management skills.

• Proficient in Python and MS Excel.

• Experience in developing technical solutions utilizing AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.

• Ability to apply statistical and data analysis techniques to uncover hidden insights from large, complex datasets.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, including account managers and software developers.

• A degree in a STEM field or equivalent professional experience is required.

• Familiarity with JavaScript, R, SQL, VBA, git, machine learning, or optimization algorithms is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience in mechanistic or empirical modeling is desirable.
