This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and predictive modeling.
• Analyze, process, and manipulate extensive data sets.
• Create predictive and machine learning models using both structured and unstructured data.
• Identify techniques for continuous and automated statistical testing to enhance model predictability.
• Utilize feature selection algorithms and sampling methods.
• Evaluate models based on statistical performance metrics.
• Generate graphs, charts, and visualizations to effectively communicate analysis findings.
• Present mathematical modeling and data analysis outcomes to stakeholders.
• Recognize business challenges, objectives, relationships, trends, and factors influencing research results.
• Suggest solutions to business issues through data analysis.
• Test, validate, and refine models for precise outcome predictions.
• Develop functions or applications for analytical purposes.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers for model deployment.
• Outline project phases, estimate timelines, and communicate these to the project manager.
• Provide guidance to project teams on enhancements for predictive and prescriptive models.
• Promote and advocate for best practices in statistical and behavioral modeling.
• Facilitate the collection of new data and the improvement of existing data sources.
• Work alongside engineering and product teams to develop and maintain the internal data platform.
• Mentor and train junior data scientists.
• Clearly communicate analyses, conclusions, and solutions to diverse audiences.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with large data sets in environments such as Hadoop, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• At least 3 years of experience with statistical and data mining tools and techniques.
• 3 years of experience with supervised models, including regression and neural networks, as well as unsupervised methods like clustering, PCA, and SVMs.
• 3 years of experience working with SQL.
• 3 years of experience in Python and at least one strongly typed programming language, such as C++ or Java.
• 3 years of experience with statistical software packages.
• 3 years of experience delivering predictive and prescriptive analytics in a business context.
• Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Advanced knowledge of data visualization libraries.
• Advanced understanding of statistical methodologies applicable to modeling and business analytics.
