Data QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Transform customer data scraping and requirements into a clear testing strategy, taking ownership of QA from project inception.

• Integrate exploratory manual and visual testing with automated tests where automation proves beneficial.

• Execute test cycles on the extracted data and provide clear reporting on the results.

• Document defects in detail, enabling developers to replicate and resolve issues without further discussions.

• Utilize descriptive statistics, summaries, and charts to illustrate data quality: completeness, accuracy, consistency, and drift.

• Generate test reports and quality scores that accurately reflect the true status for both the team and the customer when necessary.

• Clearly outline what was tested, what was not, and the associated risks.

• Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify any ambiguous or untestable requirements prior to QA commencement.

• Contribute to the test automation framework, emphasizing coverage and performance.

• Propose and take charge of enhancements to the QA process and tools, including browser add-ons, spreadsheet tools, and UI-based automation solutions.

• Collaborate with QA leadership, project managers, and developers with minimal supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a QA Engineer or comparable role, focusing on software or data testing.

• Proficiency in Python, with experience using Pandas and Jupyter for data analysis and validation.

• SQL knowledge ranging from basic to intermediate, with familiarity in at least one relational database and its tools.

• A comprehensive understanding of web technologies and protocols, including HTML, XPath, JSON, HTTP, and CSS.

• Experience in writing tests for HTTP/REST APIs.

• Strong skills in test case design and managing test data.

• Experience working within an agile team (Scrum or Kanban) alongside developers.

• Knowledge of data quality concepts such as completeness, accuracy, consistency, and drift.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain quality standards under delivery pressure.

• Proficient in written and spoken English communication.

• Familiarity with Scrapy and other Python-based scraping frameworks.

• Experience with test automation frameworks.

• Interest in data science principles as they relate to data analysis and validation.

• Enthusiasm for utilizing AI and LLM tools to enhance data validation processes.
