Data Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive data solutions that span from identifying business requirements to deployment.

• Integrate data into Snowflake and make it accessible via Trino and Metabase.

• Streamline data solutions for critical business applications.

• Transform repetitive manual requests into reusable, well-documented, and low-maintenance components.

• Oversee duty and Office Hours for data users.

• Assess incoming data requests to determine if they require quick fixes, robust solutions, or modifications to the platform.

• Establish data contracts, conduct tests, and define service level agreements (SLAs).

• Analyze pipeline incidents to identify root causes.

• Manage, deploy, and sustain Trino, Metabase, Airflow, OpenMetadata, and various other open-source tools.

• Ensure the Data Platform stack remains stable for production applications.

• Collaborate with the Data Platform team and report to the Data Platform team lead.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Data or Software Engineering.

• Proven experience in delivering and managing data pipelines and data services in a production environment.

• Proficient in Python programming.

• Knowledgeable about data warehouses, query engines, and orchestration tools.

• Experience with open-source data tools for orchestration, query engines, and business intelligence.

• Familiarity with Airflow and Snowflake is preferred.

• Skilled in troubleshooting underlying infrastructure issues.

• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS is a plus.

• Comfortable with Git-based workflows and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).

• Capable of taking projects from initial requirements to completed solutions.

• Experienced in utilizing AI tools in daily engineering tasks, including coding agents and LLM-based automation.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical limitations.

• Proficient in English.
