This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.
• Facilitate discussions centered on data architecture, focusing on customer data, application needs, and analytical requirements.
• Create contemporary architectures for analytics, data lakes, and data Lakehouses.
• Enhance the efficiency of ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines, access to compute-to-data, query performance, data arrangement, scalability, interoperability, lifecycle management, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate traditional enterprise data warehouse settings and pinpoint candidates for modernization.
• Formulate migration and modernization plans for analytical databases and data Lakehouse architectures.
• Cultivate expertise and solutions related to Vertica, SingleStore, Cloudera, Splunk, and Elastic.
• Determine the scope and scale of enterprise analytics environments based on data volumes, ingestion rates, retention policies, SLAs, and functional requirements.
• Create sizing methodologies, reference architectures, deployment patterns, migration strategies, and competitive approaches.
• Lead technical discovery meetings and convert business objectives into scalable analytics and data platform architectures.
• Act as a trusted advisor in complex discussions regarding architecture and platform transformations.
• Collaborate with sales teams, solution architects, Product Management, engineering, performance groups, ISVs, and strategic ecosystem partners.
• Shape the priorities for the X10K analytics roadmap and identify competitive deficiencies.
• Equip sales and presales teams to recognize, qualify, position, and design analytics opportunities at scale.
• Over 8 years of experience in technical presales, solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, database architecture, or data engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise analytics and modern data architectures.
• Experience in designing or supporting large-scale analytics environments.
• Strong understanding of the characteristics of analytical databases, including data ingestion, query processing, concurrency, data distribution, partitioning, performance, and capacity scaling.
• Familiarity with one or more enterprise analytics platforms such as Vertica, SingleStore, Cloudera, Teradata, or Oracle/Exadata.
• Proven ability to lead architectural discussions based on data and workload requirements.
• Ability to map comprehensive data flows from ingestion, transformation, storage, analytics, to consumption.
• Experience in evaluating modernization strategies for traditional databases or data warehouse environments.
• Capability to assess and evaluate performance requirements for large-scale analytical workloads.
• Demonstrated ability to guide customer discovery sessions and translate business and technical needs into solution architectures.
